A Daughter’s Poem About a Kite

A Daughter’s Poem About a Kite (A Poem About Flying Tiger)

by Jennifer Mangel and Marc Mangel

I have  poem about a kite

she said to me

“I have a kite

and when it flies

I am glad

and when it falls

I am sad”

The sun was warm and the wind

the wind was barely there

It was the first day of springtime summer

Our kite lay on the ground

its orange skin shining brightly

and the red cord she held tightly

It hadn’t sailed yet that day

except when ran and

dragged it on its way

cause on its own it refused to fly

I have a poem about a kite

she said to me

Tell me your poam about a kite

I said back to her

She smiled with the sun

“I have a kite

and when it flies

I am glad

and when it falls

I am sad”
