{"id":1018,"date":"2015-02-12T01:19:46","date_gmt":"2015-02-12T01:19:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marcmangel.net\/?page_id=1018"},"modified":"2015-02-12T01:19:46","modified_gmt":"2015-02-12T01:19:46","slug":"two-old-men","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marcmangel.net\/?page_id=1018","title":{"rendered":"Two Old Men"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Two Old Men<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>by Marc Mangel<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I passed an arab today and indeed he<\/p>\n<p>was a holy man.<\/p>\n<p>A worker by his clothes and hands<\/p>\n<p>smeared with dirt his face and his all<\/p>\n<p>in the cold he stood<\/p>\n<p>barefoot<\/p>\n<p>faced<\/p>\n<p>to<\/p>\n<p>mecca<\/p>\n<p>to meet<\/p>\n<p>his God<\/p>\n<p>and prayed softly with the<\/p>\n<p>fervor of the few of God<\/p>\n<p>my eye too closed and for the moment of<\/p>\n<p>eternity I joined his soul and saw<\/p>\n<p>his sights and thus I to was<\/p>\n<p>captured and ensared by the religous man.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>II<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An old Jew visited me today. he too wore<\/p>\n<p>the sign of the religious<\/p>\n<p>too often perverted by the<\/p>\n<p>sactimonious fakirs<\/p>\n<p>a staunch and majestic man<\/p>\n<p>bent<\/p>\n<p>fearing<\/p>\n<p>God fearing<\/p>\n<p>he sold the magic carpet<\/p>\n<p>the one that can<\/p>\n<p>unlock<\/p>\n<p>heaven<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>III<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>two old men<\/p>\n<p>enemies<\/p>\n<p>friends<\/p>\n<p>partners in a world which neither wants<\/p>\n<p>partners in a world not of God<\/p>\n<p>but where men of God<\/p>\n<p>are the<\/p>\n<p>beggars of life.<\/p>\n<p>March 1973<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two Old Men by Marc Mangel &nbsp; I &nbsp; I passed an arab today and indeed he was a holy man.
