The three Ts for doing this are Teshuvah, Tefillah and Tzedaka.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Teshuvah means to return, not to repent for which there is a different word in Hebrew (charatah).<\/p>\n<p>We are to return and find the essence of goodness in<\/p>\n<p>Ourselves and in others \u2013 back to our roots in<\/p>\n<p>Godliness and discovering them as our true character.<\/p>\n<p>This is something we all can do, regardless of where we are on the Jewish path.<\/p>\n<p>Tefillah is often interpreted as prayer; in Hebrew there is a different word for prayer\u00a0 (bakasha)\u2013 meaning supplications or requests. Tefillah means to attach oneself\u00a0 &#8211; to reach towards an attachment to God. This is also something we all can do, regardless of\u00a0 where we are on the Jewish path.<\/p>\n<p>Tzedaka means righteousness or justice, not charity for which there is a different word in Hebrew (chesed). The Rebbe says Tzedaka \u201ctransforms matter into spirit; it turns a coin into fire\u201d and the Psalmist \u00a0\u201cHappy are they who give tzedaka at all times\u201d.\u00a0We give tzedaka as a duty to God and and as justice to\u00a0those who are in need.This is also something we can all do, regardless of Where we are on the\u00a0 Jewish path<\/p>\n<p>The productivity of our Jewish lives will make this a good and sweet year.<\/p>\n<p>So let us remember Teshuvah: Seeing goodness.
