• In Ch 45, v 1 Joseph kicks everyone out of the room except his brothers. Why is this? Does he sense danger? Does he not want to embarrass his brothers? Is there no one else who can understand the situation?

• Then in v 7, Joseph tells his brothers “God sent me here”

• In Ch 46, v 1, Joseph’s father is called Israel, in v 2 called Yaakov by God and in v5 we read that Israel’s sons carried Yaakov. What does this mean?

• In Ch 47, v 7-9 Yaakov verses Pharaoh and asks “How old are you” (Yaakov lived to be 147).  Why would he ask this question?
