Eagle
by Marc Mangel
An eagle soars, an eagle glides.
Soaring eagles drop from the sky
three adults and one that can’t fly.
Younger ones are floating and bold
learning tasks for when they are old.
Sky is filled with blackness of feather
crows have seen times they’ve liked better.
Air is filled with eagle cries
down below there’s a human who sighs.
A bit of time and eagles move on
crows peek out to see where they’ gone.
But now they are back circling so high
bringing a fish to the one who can’t fly.
An eagle soars, an eagle glides.
