Stuck (1973)

Stuck

by Marc Mangel

If a man is stuck in the mud

and you want to help him

you can’t be afraid

to get your feet

dirty

And that homily means that

each should reach out and perhaps

by lowering himself a bit can

raise us all a bit more.

Its hard and painful and mosttimes

seems like the proverbial

hitting your head against

a brick wall but sometimes

even red brick has been known

to crack and splinter or if

not at least to chip

and if there are enough chips

then there is not a brick anymore

and if that one is gone

down fals that immutable wall.

So the message is that there is

not such a place known as too low

just as there may not be such a

place known as too high

so brother reach out
