Lake Arrowhead, 1985

I’m sitting here away from you

so many things I’d like to do

to touch your hair

and kiss your eyes

walk with you under sunny skies

but you’re not here

so far away and I must

wait for another day.

 

Down below they’re playing poker

I’d join them but

I’d be the joker

miscued cards and lousy bets

cause my mind’s so far away

and I must

wait for another day.

 

Lake Arrowhead gots a chain link fence

surrounding it with no trespassing signs

sprouting like pine needles

There’s a fence around my heart as they say

a trip by plane til I get t you

and I’ll be there on another day
