• This is the longest parsha at 176 verses — it is paired with Psalm 119 with title “Torah, the way of life”

• Why is this so long?

• Pick a tribe three times. They are all told to give the same gift. So why don’t we just have “This is the gift of the tribes”?

•Rav Shlomo Brener writes “The fundamental lesson is that 12 people may offer the very same gift (prayer) to HaShem but each gift is different.  Only HaShem knows the true meanings of these gifts/prayers”.

• The spirit and joy with which a gift is given determines its real value.

•The same is true for prayer.
